At Kilner & Hutchinson, we are always making every effort to provide a better service for our customers. We are increasingly seeing a demand for part and fully machined castings, and have built up close relationships with a number of machine shops to provide this.
Machining is carried out by our trusted machine shops utilising computer numerical controls (CNC) and skilled machine operators. Using CNC technology ensures the perfect finish every time.
CNC machining cast iron components
We offer a full range of machining services for our customers, allowing for greater – even granular – control over the quality of the finished product.
Surface grinding and turning
Turning is a process that uses cutting tools – often ceramic or carbide – to give a casting a smooth finish by removing excess materials and closing holes in the surface. Surface grinding is used to produce a completely flat surface with outstanding precision.
Drilling and milling
Milling uses ceramic or carbide tools to create intricate features and details on the surface of the casting, while manual drilling is a method of drilling holes into a component. All of these processes allow us to create highly specialised components to our customers’ exact specifications.
